UI Redesign
Cloudflare has rolled out a significant visual overhaul to the WARP client for macOS. The new interface replaces the previous toggle mechanism for managing connectivity with a button-based system, providing a more intuitive interaction model. The redesign introduces a collapsible navigation bar that expands to reveal additional client information, including connectivity status, settings, and device profile details—making critical controls more discoverable while maintaining a clean home screen view.
Bug Fixes and Stability Improvements
This beta release addresses several stability and reliability issues:
- Proxy mode unresponsiveness: Fixed a critical issue where upstream connection timeouts could cause the client to become unresponsive in proxy mode
- MDM configuration handling: Empty MDM files are now properly rejected instead of being incorrectly accepted as valid configurations
- Organization switching: Resolved an issue where emergency disconnect state from previous organizations would persist after switching organizations
- Network detection: Fixed unnecessary managed network detection checks when no network is available, which was causing device profile flapping
Performance and Diagnostics Enhancements
The update includes several under-the-hood improvements designed for better reliability and troubleshooting:
- Switched tunnel congestion control algorithm to Cubic for improved cross-platform reliability
- Added detailed QUIC connection metrics to diagnostic logs to help with troubleshooting
- Implemented monitoring for tunnel statistics collection timeouts
- Improved CLI command clarity by distinguishing consumer-only commands from Zero Trust commands
Known Issues
The beta release includes three known issues: the client may become stuck in a Connecting state (resolved by disconnecting/reconnecting or changing operation mode), may display a blank screen after device sleep (requires relaunching the client), and canceling login during MDM setup results in an unrecoverable empty page. Workarounds are provided for each issue.
