Dashboard Embedding and Sharing

Dashboard embedding for external users is now generally available, enabling teams to embed AI/BI dashboards in external applications without requiring viewers to have Databricks accounts. This feature includes support for hiding the Databricks logo in embedded dashboards using the hideDatabricksLogo option, giving organizations more control over their branding.

New Dashboard Authoring and Display Capabilities

Dashboard authors gain several new tools in this release:

• Mobile layouts: Dashboards automatically render in mobile-friendly layouts on small screens
• Custom fonts: Authors can select custom fonts for dashboards (falling back to defaults if unavailable on viewer machines)
• Custom subscription email subjects: When configuring dashboard subscriptions, authors can now edit notification email subject lines
• Accounting-style number formatting: Number fields support accounting-style formatting with negative values in parentheses and aligned currency symbols
• Genie Code for dashboard authoring (Public Preview): Automate multi-step workflows using natural language to create datasets, visualizations, layouts, and filters

Enhanced Dashboard Features and Improvements

Dashboard users benefit from improved usability and data discovery:

• Metric view lineage highlighting: Hovering over metric views in the lineage panel highlights dependent visualizations
• Certification and deprecation icons: Data objects now display certification and deprecation status in the lineage panel
• Clear individual filters: Remove single filter selections without resetting all active filters
• Pivot table drill-through: Drill through data in pivot tables for deeper exploration
• Waterfall chart faceting: Apply faceting (small multiples) to waterfall charts
• Point map recentering: Maps automatically recenter when filters are applied
• Unity Catalog metric views in Excel and Google Sheets: Import metric views as pivot tables using Databricks connectors

Genie AI Features and APIs

The Genie conversational AI service receives several enhancements:

• Genie space management APIs (General Availability): The CreateSpace, UpdateSpace, GenieGetSpace, GenieListSpaces, and GenieTrashSpace APIs are now generally available for integrating Genie into applications
• Chat in Databricks One (Beta): A unified, full-screen interface for interacting with Genie, which routes questions to relevant spaces or answers directly using available data
• Workspace-level color palettes: Charts now use workspace-configured visualization color palettes
• Improved context handling: Better identification of relevant previous messages reduces context loss in conversations
• Top-X answer accuracy: More accurate results for top-X questions with tied values

Cross-Workspace Discovery

Account-level Databricks One (Beta) provides a single entry point for discovering and interacting with dashboards, Genie spaces, and Databricks Apps across all workspaces in an account, including unified search, recommendations, and favorites.

Bug Fixes and Deprecations

This release also includes fixes for temporal data axis spacing in bar/line charts, AI chart suggestion stability, datetime dropdown menus, and dashboard refresh cancellation. Additionally, legacy Databricks SQL dashboards have reached end of life and are no longer available.
