Dashboard Embedding Now Generally Available

Dashboard embedding for external users is now generally available, allowing organizations to embed AI/BI dashboards in external applications without requiring viewers to have Databricks accounts. Additional customization options include the ability to hide the Databricks logo using the hideDatabricksLogo option.

Enhanced Dashboard Features

The dashboard experience has been significantly improved with several new capabilities:

  • Mobile-friendly layouts: Dashboards now automatically render in a mobile-optimized format when viewed on small screens
  • Custom fonts: Dashboard authors can select custom fonts for their dashboards (with fallback to Databricks defaults if fonts are unavailable)
  • Accounting-style number formatting: Number fields now support accounting-style formatting with negative values in parentheses and vertically aligned currency symbols
  • Custom subscription emails: Dashboard authors can customize the subject line of subscription notification emails
  • Individual filter clearing: Users can now remove single filter selections from the active filter bar without resetting all filters
  • Improved lineage visualization: Metric view lineage highlighting and certification/deprecation status indicators are now visible in the lineage panel

Genie AI Enhancements

Genie Agent mode is now available in Public Preview, enabling multi-step reasoning and hypothesis testing for both straightforward and complex business questions. The Genie space management APIs (CreateSpace, UpdateSpace, GenieGetSpace, GenieListSpaces, and GenieTrashSpace) have reached general availability, enabling integration into applications. Additional improvements include better context handling to reduce context loss and more accurate answers for top-X queries with tied results.

Chat in Databricks One (Beta) provides a unified full-screen interface that routes questions to the most relevant Genie space or answers them agentively using available data assets.

Cross-Workspace Access

Account-level Databricks One (Beta) enables users to discover and interact with AI/BI dashboards, Genie spaces, and Databricks Apps across all workspaces in their account from a single entry point, with unified search and recommendations.

Additional Improvements

Other fixes and enhancements include pivot table drill-through, point map recentering on filter changes, waterfall chart faceting, Unity Catalog metric view support in Excel and Google Sheets, and various bug fixes for dashboard imports and chart rendering.
