Devin v3 API Now Production-Ready

The Devin v3 API has officially exited beta and is now the primary API for all Devin functionality. This release consolidates the platform around a single, modernized API that provides all legacy capabilities while adding new features unavailable to older versions.

Key Improvements and New Capabilities

The v3 API introduces several enterprise-focused features:

  • Role-based access control for fine-grained permission management
  • Session attribution to track which users or systems initiated operations
  • Enhanced capabilities beyond what v1 and v2 offered

Migration Timeline and Support

The legacy v1 and v2 APIs will be deprecated in the future, with exact dates to be announced separately. Cognition commits to providing at least 30 days notice before discontinuation. During the deprecation period, legacy APIs will continue functioning, but all new features will be exclusive to v3.

Developers should begin planning migrations to the v3 API to access upcoming functionality and ensure long-term compatibility.
