Docker Desktop 4.64.0 Released
Docker has released version 4.64.0 of Docker Desktop with targeted improvements to its AI and extensibility features. The update includes bundled releases of Docker Compose v5.1.0, Docker Scout CLI v1.20.0, and cagent v1.27.1.
Key Fixes for MCP Toolkit
The MCP Toolkit received several critical bug fixes in this release:
- Fixed profile tool management: Resolved a bug where disabling all tools in a profile would paradoxically enable all tools instead
- OAuth catalog display: Fixed the OAuth tab in Docker MCP Toolkit to properly display entries from all available catalogs
- Improved search functionality: Enhanced the MCP Catalog search experience for better discoverability
Gordon AI and CLI Improvements
The Gordon AI assistant (formerly branded as "Docker AI") received stability and functionality improvements:
- Fixed the
docker aicommand stopping unexpectedly after Docker Agent updates - Resolved a bug where
docker aiCLI commands did not correctly shell out to cagent - Improved Gordon session title flickering when hover buttons appear
- Enhanced summary rendering and reduced narrative verbosity for cleaner outputs
Platform-Specific Enhancements
For macOS: Docker improved update reliability by preparing updated Docker.app files under Application Support instead of /tmp, and enhanced error reporting during updates with more descriptive diagnostics.
For Windows: Improved overall startup time performance.
For all platforms: Fixed the Build logs tab to retain search terms and filters when switching between tabs, and improved Kind container startup reliability.
Availability
Docker Desktop 4.64.0 is rolling out gradually to all users across Windows (Intel and ARM Early Access), macOS (Apple and Intel chips), and Linux (Debian, RPM, and Arch). Updates typically become available within a week of the release date.
