Model Availability

Claude Opus 4.6 is now generally available to all Copilot tiers:

• Copilot Pro and Copilot Pro+ (individual users)
• Copilot Business and Copilot Enterprise (organizations)

The model can be accessed directly through the chat model picker in supported IDEs and platforms, giving developers access to a more capable AI assistant across their development workflow.

Where to Access

The model is available across a comprehensive set of development environments:

• GitHub Copilot Chat on github.com and GitHub Mobile
• Visual Studio Code
• Visual Studio
• JetBrains IDEs
• Xcode
• Eclipse

Developers can use Claude Opus 4.6 in chat, agent, ask, and edit modes, providing flexibility for different types of coding tasks.

Setup for Enterprise Users

Copilot Business and Enterprise administrators must explicitly opt in to enable Claude Opus 4.6:

1. Navigate to Copilot settings
2. Enable the Claude Opus 4.6 policy
3. Once enabled, the model will appear in the model picker for all organization users

Individual Copilot Pro users should see the model available immediately in their model picker.
