Model Selection in Pull Request Comments

When mentioning @copilot in pull request comments, users can now choose which AI model powers the coding agent. After typing the mention, a model picker appears in the bottom-left of the comment box, giving developers control over which supported model will handle their request.

How It Works

The Copilot coding agent continues to operate in a dedicated development environment powered by GitHub Actions, where it can make changes, build projects, and run tests. The new model picker simply lets developers select their preferred AI model before the agent executes.

Current Limitations & Roadmap

This feature is currently available on github.com only and works exclusively in pull request comments (not pull request review comments). GitHub plans to expand model selection to GitHub Mobile and other comment types in future updates.
