Raycast Integration for Copilot Coding Agent

GitHub has expanded the accessibility of its Copilot coding agent by integrating it with Raycast, a popular productivity launcher for macOS and Windows. Developers can now assign issues and manage coding tasks directly from Raycast using the GitHub Copilot extension, streamlining workflows without context-switching.

How It Works

After installing the GitHub Copilot extension in Raycast, users gain access to three key commands:

  • Assign Issue to Copilot: Select a repository and issue, then press Cmd + Enter (macOS) or Ctrl + Enter (Windows) to delegate the task. Copilot opens a pull request and works autonomously in the background.
  • Create Task: Start new coding tasks without requiring an existing issue.
  • View Tasks: Monitor the progress of active Copilot assignments in real-time.

Once assigned, Copilot operates asynchronously as a background agent, then requests your review when the work is complete.

Availability and Requirements

The Copilot coding agent is available to Copilot Pro, Copilot Pro+, Copilot Business, and Copilot Enterprise subscribers. Copilot Business and Enterprise users must have the feature enabled by their administrator via the "Policies" page in their GitHub settings.
