GitHub Copilot metrics API updates CDN endpoints; firewall rules require adjustment
CDN Endpoint Migration
The GitHub Copilot usage metrics API is migrating download URLs to a new Azure CDN endpoint. The API contract, response schema, and report data remain unchanged—only the underlying domain for accessing downloads has shifted.
Action Required for Network Configuration
Organizations managing firewall rules need to take action:
- Firewall Allowlisting: If your organization uses firewall rules that allowlist specific CDN domains, add the new pattern
copilot-reports-production-*.b01.azurefd.netto your allowlist alongside the existingcopilot-reports-*.b01.azurefd.netpattern. - Dashboard UI Users: If you download reports exclusively through the GitHub dashboard UI, no changes are required on your end.
Reference and Support
For a complete list of domains to allowlist, consult the GitHub Copilot allowlist reference documentation. Questions and discussions can be directed to the GitHub Community Announcements.
