Cost Center Integration Deprecation

GitHub is deprecating the cost center integration on the enterprise People page. This change consolidates cost center management into a dedicated page within the enterprise billing settings, eliminating redundant functionality that existed across multiple interfaces.

What's Being Removed

The following cost center features will be removed from the enterprise People page:

• Cost center filter in the member filter bar
• Cost center status in member list details
• Cost center error warning banner
• Cost center section in the person detail sidebar
• Cost center column in the Licensing CSV export

Migration Path

Enterprise administrators should migrate their cost center workflows to the dedicated Cost centers page under enterprise billing settings. This new interface, introduced alongside GitHub's new billing platform, provides a more centralized and comprehensive approach to managing cost center assignments and viewing cost center data.

Organizations can still access cost center data via the API and the dedicated cost center management page in Billing. For questions or discussion about this deprecation, GitHub Community has opened a discussion thread for feedback.
