New Model Availability

GitHub has released GPT-5.3-Codex, a new model now available across multiple platforms:

• github.com (web interface)
• GitHub Mobile (iOS and Android apps)
• Visual Studio Code (VSCode extension)
• Visual Studio (IDE)

The model is accessible through the chat model picker in GitHub Copilot Chat and is available to users on Copilot Enterprise, Copilot Business, Copilot Pro, and Copilot Pro+ plans.

Administrator Setup

For Copilot Business and Enterprise organizations:

1. Administrators must opt in by enabling the GPT-5.3-Codex policy in Copilot settings
2. Once enabled, all users in the organization will see GPT-5.3-Codex available in the model picker
3. No additional configuration is needed at the user level—the model will appear automatically after administrator opt-in

Getting Started

Users can begin using GPT-5.3-Codex immediately after their administrator enables access. The model can be selected directly from the chat interface alongside other available AI models. For additional details on supported models and best practices, refer to the Copilot models documentation.
