Gemini 3.1 Pro Now Available Across Google's Platforms

Google has released Gemini 3.1 Pro, representing a substantial upgrade to its core reasoning capabilities. The model is rolling out immediately to developers via the Gemini API (through Google AI Studio, Gemini CLI, and Android Studio), to enterprises through Vertex AI and Gemini Enterprise, and to consumers via the Gemini app and NotebookLM.

Significant Performance Improvements

Gemini 3.1 Pro demonstrates marked improvements in complex reasoning tasks. On the ARC-AGI-2 benchmark—which evaluates a model's ability to solve entirely new logic patterns—the model achieved a verified score of 77.1%, more than double the reasoning performance of its predecessor, Gemini 3 Pro. This performance leap reflects meaningful advances in the model's ability to tackle sophisticated problem-solving scenarios.

Practical Applications for Developers

The model is purpose-built for tasks requiring advanced reasoning beyond simple answers. Real-world applications include:

  • Code generation: Creating website-ready, animated SVGs directly from text prompts in pure code for crisp, scalable graphics
  • Complex system integration: Building live data dashboards by synthesizing complex APIs (demonstrated with an International Space Station telemetry dashboard)
  • Interactive design: Generating immersive 3D experiences with hand-tracking and generative audio that adapts to user input

Getting Started

Developers can access Gemini 3.1 Pro in preview immediately through Google AI Studio, the Gemini CLI, Google Antigravity (Google's agentic development platform), and Android Studio. Enterprise customers should check the Vertex AI and Gemini Enterprise documentation for integration details.
