Lyria 3 Pro Now Available Across Google Products

Google has expanded its music generation capabilities with the introduction of Lyria 3 Pro, a more advanced version of its Lyria 3 model announced last month. The key improvements include:

  • Extended track length: Generate music tracks up to 3 minutes long (versus shorter previous limits)
  • Structural awareness: Prompt for specific musical elements like intros, verses, choruses, and bridges
  • Enhanced customization: Better musicality and creative control for composing complex transitions

Multi-Platform Rollout

Lyria 3 Pro is now available in the following Google services:

For Enterprise & Developers:

  • Vertex AI (public preview): On-demand audio generation at scale for businesses requiring high-fidelity production, gaming soundtracks, and creative tool integration
  • Google AI Studio & Gemini API: Integrated for developers building creative tools with improved musical coherence
  • Lyria RealTime integration available for real-time music generation workflows

For Creators & Workspace Users:

  • Google Vids: Rolling out this week to Google Workspace customers and Google AI Pro & Ultra subscribers
  • Gemini app: Available to paid subscribers with enhanced customization for personal projects, vlogs, and podcasts
  • ProducerAI: Updated with agentic capabilities for iterative song composition, available globally to free and paid users

Responsible Development with Artist Partnerships

Google emphasizes responsible AI development through ongoing partnerships with musicians and creators. The approach includes:

  • Collaboration through the Music AI Sandbox program with industry professionals
  • No artist mimicking—named creators are treated as broad inspiration only
  • Content filtering to check outputs against existing material
  • Training using YouTube and Google materials covered under terms of service and partner agreements

Notable collaborators include Grammy-winning producer Yung Spielburg and DJ François K, who have integrated Lyria into their creative workflows.
