Consent Controls for AI Meeting Notes

Notion has introduced new workspace-wide consent controls for its AI Meeting Notes feature, allowing administrators to enforce a consistent policy around audio recording notifications.

What Changed

Workspace owners can now:

• Set a workspace-wide policy requiring consent messages for AI Meeting Notes audio transcription
• When enabled, an automatic consent message plays at the start of each transcription to notify meeting participants
• Configure this setting anytime from Settings → Notion AI → AI Meeting Notes

How to Enable

Admins simply need to navigate to their workspace settings and select the "Enforce consent for all workspace members" option under AI Meeting Notes. Once enabled, the consent message will automatically play before transcriptions begin.

Why This Matters

This feature addresses compliance and privacy considerations for organizations using AI-powered meeting transcription. By automatically notifying all participants that recordings are being transcribed, teams can ensure they meet disclosure requirements and maintain transparency around AI usage in their workspace.

Notion also recently shipped complementary AI features including image generation, dashboard views, and Salesforce account integration.
