What's New
NVIDIA has released DSX Air, a cloud-based simulation platform designed to help organizations build and validate AI factory infrastructure at scale. Rather than deploying expensive hardware configurations without testing, teams can now simulate complete AI compute fabrics—including NVIDIA Spectrum-X Ethernet switches, NVLink technologies, and the upcoming Spectrum-6 switches for NVIDIA Vera Rubin platforms.
Key Features
Simulation capabilities:
- Guaranteed capacity through subscription options without resource limits
- Support for large-scale, long-lived simulations from pre-provisioning through decommissioning
- Simulation of complete compute fabrics with NVIDIA networking and GPU technologies
Management and continuity:
- Checkpoints: Save simulation state snapshots to pause/resume work without losing configuration data. Critical checkpoints can be marked as favorites to prevent automatic deletion.
- Simulation history: Detailed event logs tracking creation, state changes, user activities, and errors with keyword filtering for troubleshooting
- Unified account setup: Integrated with NVIDIA GPU Cloud (NGC) for multi-user access, team structures, and role-based access controls
Developer integration:
- Python SDK and REST APIs for programmatic simulation instantiation
- CI/CD pipeline integration enabling continuous verification of software and configuration updates
- Git and artifact repository integration for automated deployment testing
Use Cases and Impact
Organizations can accelerate the full AI infrastructure lifecycle—design, validation, and deployment—by identifying integration risks and configuration issues before physical hardware arrives. Teams can automate provisioning, test software-defined configurations, and evaluate change impacts without hardware dependencies, significantly reducing deployment cycles and enhancing AIOps efficiency.
The platform also supports ecosystem partner integration, allowing ISVs focused on orchestration, security, and operations to bring their software images for deep integration with server, storage, and networking components.
Getting Started
Developers can access guided demos and technical training through the DSX Air platform at air.nvidia.com and begin signing up through the NGC portal.
