NVIDIA launches DSX Air, cloud-based AI factory simulator with checkpoint and CI/CD integration

NVIDIA has released DSX Air, a cloud-based simulation platform designed to help organizations build and validate AI factory infrastructure at scale. Rather than deploying expensive hardware configurations without testing, teams can now simulate complete AI compute fabrics—including NVIDIA Spectrum-X Ethernet switches, NVLink technologies, and the upcoming Spectrum-6 switches for NVIDIA Vera Rubin platforms.

Simulation capabilities:

  • Guaranteed capacity through subscription options without resource limits
  • Support for large-scale, long-lived simulations from pre-provisioning through decommissioning
  • Simulation of complete compute fabrics with NVIDIA networking and GPU technologies

Management and continuity:

  • Checkpoints: Save simulation state snapshots to pause/resume work without losing configuration data. Critical checkpoints can be marked as favorites to prevent automatic deletion.
  • Simulation history: Detailed event logs tracking creation, state changes, user activities, and errors with keyword filtering for troubleshooting
  • Unified account setup: Integrated with NVIDIA GPU Cloud (NGC) for multi-user access, team structures, and role-based access controls

  • Python SDK and REST APIs for programmatic simulation instantiation
