New Dashboard Layout

Railway has redesigned its main dashboard to provide cleaner navigation and a more intuitive information architecture. The update includes a refreshed sidebar and reorganized information flow, making it easier to manage multiple teams and projects within the platform. While described as a thoughtful evolution rather than a complete overhaul, the dashboard aims to feel more balanced and easier to navigate.

DNS Management for Railway Domains

Previously, domains purchased through Railway could only point to Railway services. This update extends the domain management experience by allowing users to configure DNS records directly within Railway's dashboard. Users can now manage A, CNAME, TXT, and other record types without leaving the platform or using third-party DNS providers. This removes friction from the domain purchasing and management workflow.

Raw Queries Across All Databases

The Data UI now supports raw query execution for Postgres, MySQL, Redis, and MongoDB. Developers can write and execute queries directly from the Railway dashboard without connecting external database clients. The update also adds key performance metrics for these databases alongside existing Postgres monitoring. This feature was previously available to Priority Boarding users and is now generally available.

What's Next

Railway is actively soliciting user feedback through Central Station on all three features, indicating an openness to further refinement and expansion of these capabilities.
