Zed Student Plan Now Available

Zed has launched a free Student plan targeting university students worldwide. Eligible students get full access to Zed Pro features at no cost for one year, removing the barrier to entry for collaborative coding.

The Student plan provides:

• $10/month in AI token credits for agent assistance
• Unlimited edit predictions powered by AI
• Real-time collaboration built directly into the editor, enabling seamless teamwork without external tools
• The ability to bring your own API keys from providers like OpenRouter, Gemini, or GitHub Copilot (which offers free Pro access to verified students)

How to Apply

Any currently enrolled university student can apply at zed.dev/education. Students on free trials can convert immediately with no lost credits; existing Pro subscribers can switch instantly.

Campus Ambassadors Program

Alongside the Student plan, Zed is launching a Campus Ambassadors program to recruit and empower campus leaders. Ambassadors will help bring Zed to their universities with perks, merchandise, and the opportunity to work closely with Zed's team.
