GitHub Code Quality org-level dashboard enters public preview with cross-repo health metrics
Organization-Level Code Quality Visibility
GitHub has expanded its Code Quality feature with a new organization-level dashboard now available in public preview. This dashboard provides a centralized view of code health metrics across all repositories where code quality analysis is enabled, helping teams quickly identify and prioritize which repositories need attention.
Key Features
- Code health comparison: View maintainability and reliability metrics across repositories using an interactive bubble chart that plots these dimensions against each other
- Sorting and filtering: Organize repositories by reliability, maintainability, and other code quality attributes to focus on areas of concern
- Permission-aware access: Organization owners and administrators can view metrics for all repositories, while developers can only see data for repositories where they have write access
- Consistent with security workflows: Access the dashboard through the organization-level Security tab under the "Code quality" section
Availability and Next Steps
The organization-level dashboard is available to organizations participating in the GitHub Code Quality public preview on github.com and GitHub Enterprise Cloud with data residency. Teams can now get organization-wide visibility into code quality without drilling down into individual repository details. GitHub is actively seeking feedback on the preview through their community discussions.
