GitHub Copilot metrics API redirects to new CDN endpoint

API Migration Complete

GitHub has updated the underlying CDN infrastructure for the Copilot usage metrics API, moving report download URLs to a new endpoint. The change is transparent to most users—your report data, API contract, and response schema remain exactly the same.

Required Action for Firewall Policies

If you manage network security policies that allowlist specific CDN domains, you need to update your firewall rules:

  • Add this new pattern: copilot-reports-production-*.b01.azurefd.net
  • Keep existing pattern: copilot-reports-*.b01.azurefd.net (continue to allowlist this as well)

Refer to the GitHub Copilot allowlist reference documentation for the complete current list of allowlisted domains.

No Changes Required for Dashboard Users

If you download reports directly through the GitHub dashboard UI, no action is necessary. The migration is handled transparently on the backend.

Next Steps

Review your network security configuration and update firewall rules if applicable. If you have questions or run into issues, join the discussion in GitHub Community Announcements.
