Repository Dashboard Now Generally Available

GitHub has released its repository dashboard as a generally available feature, graduating from public preview. The dashboard simplifies repository discovery and management by providing a centralized hub for finding, filtering, and organizing repositories across personal projects and enterprise codebases.

Key Additions in GA Release

This general availability release introduces two significant enhancements:

  • Admin Access View: A new built-in view automatically surfaces all repositories where you have admin permissions, streamlining access control management and configuration across multiple projects.
  • Command Palette Integration: The dashboard is now directly accessible through GitHub's command palette, allowing faster navigation without interrupting your current workflow.

Core Features and Capabilities

The dashboard includes several powerful features for repository management:

  • Unified Repository Discovery: Access any repository you've contributed to or have access to in a single, searchable location.
  • Curated Default Views: Start with pre-built views including My contributions, My repositories, My forks, and the new Admin access view.
  • Advanced Filtering: Refine searches using filters like visibility, language, organization, and more. Sort by relevance to identify your most active repositories.
  • Saved Custom Queries: Bookmark frequently-used filter combinations to instantly return to your most important repository views.

Access Methods

You can access the repository dashboard through multiple routes:

  • Visit github.com/repos directly
  • Click the repositories icon in the top global navigation bar
  • Select Repositories from the left-hand navigation menu
  • Search for "Repositories" in the command palette
